Change seems to be a huge topic today...

Gardeners should be used to change. Every season every year presents its own differences and without question we adapt. Maybe some mumbles and grumbles about the frost is early, could be grunting about the amount of rain. Whatever we accept the changes and move on there’s work to do.

The more soil toilers I meet the more I see the acceptance of what nature gives us, may not like it but it’s not a fight to change it. Changes may mean we have to learn a new skill or use our knowledge in a slightly different way. So what? As you age you look for ways to engage your mind to keep it sharp use the difference as a lubricant for your brain.

Climate change is going to present us with new challenges each and every year. We may need different tools, new strategies. Look at the challenges, study them, adapt and grow even better next season.

good change - good, bad change- bad. Busybody change for changes sake - usually bad. Blues Heron Oct 2023 #1
