Smoked Paprika Chicken

Smoked Paprika Chicken is a flavorful and versatile dish that pairs tender chicken with the earthy, smoky depth of paprika. This recipe brings together simple ingredients to create a dish that’s quick enough for a weeknight meal yet impressive enough for guests. The smoky paprika enhances the chicken’s natural flavor, while a touch of garlic and lemon adds brightness and balance. Serve it alongside roasted vegetables, a crisp salad, or buttery mashed potatoes for a complete and satisfying meal.

Ingredients:

4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (((THIGHS)))
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 ½ teaspoons smoked paprika
1 teaspoon garlic powder
½ teaspoon onion powder
½ teaspoon dried thyme
½ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon black pepper
Juice of ½ lemon
Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish (optional)

Prepare the Chicken:
Pat the chicken breasts dry with paper towels. Using a sharp knife, lightly score the surface of each breast to allow the seasoning to penetrate.
Season the Chicken:
In a small bowl, mix together the smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, dried thyme, salt, and black pepper. Rub the spice mixture evenly over both sides of the chicken breasts.
Cook the Chicken:
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the chicken breasts. Cook for 5-6 minutes on each side, or until the chicken is golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature of 165°F/75°C).
Add Lemon Juice:
Squeeze the lemon juice over the chicken in the skillet, allowing it to sizzle and coat the chicken with a bright, citrusy glaze. Cook for an additional minute.
Serve:
Transfer the chicken to a serving platter. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired, and serve warm.
