I need, a fast food, home cook , fix.

My go-to on days like this was always, sloppy Joe's. I don't have buns, I'm not driving today, due to meds.
So I looked through pantry, I was planning on Shepards pie , when it turns cold again in 2 days. Taters already done, and in fridge, and my mind says, " sloppy Joe Shepards pie"
Back in the 70s, we always put our sloppy, over potatoes, it's how Mom and Dad, saved money.
Think I might try it, what could go wrong?

My mother, made burgers, on a cookie sheet, in oven. Any gravy, was out of her league.
I was just gonna, layer it all in a baking dish and bake, like a shepards pie, nice cheddar crust on top, only 1 pan to wash as leftovers will feed me for lunch, rest of week.
I'll let ya know how it turns out

cut it into rounds and bake. Make up a packet of gravy and serve the gravy over the rounds with a side of veggies (usually peas or broccoli).

I've done a hamburger stew over mashed potatoes. It was quick and really tasty. The stew was hamburger, some gravy, a few dashes of Worcestershire sauce and a bag of mixed veggies.

If you've got any appropriate frozen veg around, add them too and don't have it too soupy. Not sliceable, but easily scoopable. The cheddar on top of mashed potatoes is a great finish! One pan, complete meal, stores and reheats nicely. What could be bad?

I sometimes put leftover chili on baked potatoes, and your suggestion isn't that different. In fact, I might make something similar soon - thanks for the inspiration!
