I'm trying to find a recipe for spaghetti using fresh tomatoes and anchovies.
Toasted artisan bread with garlic and butter.
These are the anchovies I'm working with...Mr. Moris.
Tossed green salad with vinaigrette. Cucumbers, Vidalia.

Also, garlic mashed potatoes and a salad of tomatoes & cukes from a local farm. A very basic red wine, and mint chip frozen yogurt bars for dessert.

I was supposed to take the Landlady out for dinner but all of our favorite restaurants were booked until too late. So Im cooking and we agreed on tacos.
Hard shell beef tacos with lettuce, tomatoes, chopped onions, salsa and sour cream. Yellow rice and refried beans along with margaritas to round out the dinner.
Oranges for dessert.

(2,795 posts)Fairly normal recipe, bit , I put half the taters down. Then a thin layer os Ricotta, the rest of taters.
It kinda mellows the Worcester, and, adds a creamy texture.
And, it's, more cheese!

For your dinner, try just working on it off-the-cuff. That's how I cook about two-thirds of the time these days. I developed a recipe for pasta with fresh tomatoes (cherry or regular, whatever I have on hand at the moment) and bacon which is now a staple in the repertoire. I haven't tried it, but it could undoubtedly be modified to use anchovies by adding them towards the end rather than earlier. My idea would be to use some garlic and olive oil to start, then add your tomatoes, cut up but not too finely, and cook until sort of tender It will be juicy, so you can cook down a little and/or add some tomato paste (about a tablespoon). Add your anchovies (cut up or not) and season as desired, I usually add the already cooked pasta to the sauce at this point, toss it, and then add a lot of chopped fresh basil which I grow on my deck. This is a riff on my bacon and tomato pasta. I might try it on some Friday myself.....
Will try this.
I'm capable and actually enjoy creating my own recipes, but a lot of times I want directions because I'm listening to a podcast and can't spare the brain power!
The RG, who is a professional at this, is so focused when he creates a dish that I know to be quiet and/or even get out of the kitchen. He's fascinating to watch, though, so I mostly try to shut up.
