Shrimp & asparagus quiche with spinach, red onion, and herbs (prol'ly basil and oregano, both fresh). I have a pie crust for this one in the freezer.
Tossed green salad with avocado, pepper, cucumber, red onion. Caesar dressing.
Basil blueberry kombucha.
Dessert: Greek yogurt and strawberries with toasted almonds on top. Dark Chinese tea.

Were going to our neighbors for dinner and all I know is were bringing red wine and Brie.

(6,318 posts)Made with chicken bone broth but theres no meat. Lotsa hominy and I added a sweet potato, lotsa garlic and onions. And every Mexican spice I own. Broth tastes good. Its simmering. Will have topped with lime zest cilantro and sour cream. Corn chips on the side.

It is hard to beat a good rich chicken stock or any well made stock actually
I have to laugh when I see "bone broth". We made bone broth before it was cool. What else are you going to do with that damn chicken or turkey carcass? If I wanted to make it and sell it I could make a killing. That stuff is NOT cheap
I like to roast beef bones a bit in the oven before making stock with them

(1,760 posts)tender and nice! Mashed potatoes and gravy, some leftover coleslaw, and chopped cucumber with fresh mint in a mixture of sour cream and buttermilk (since I didn't have any yogurt). The wine was a Hungarian Tokaji Furmint wine, dry but fruity.

Served it over white fluffy rice.
I put tomatoes in it, which are optional.
