When I make a sandwich for myself, I wrap it in wax paper.
Even if I only wait fifteen minutes it tastes better.
I think it's a throw-back to my youth.

(92,495 posts)While she lived with us, wrapped everything, from the sandwich to the carrot sticks. The sandwich had a certain flavor to it that was lost when baggies showed up.

(52,222 posts)on white bread is what I forced to eat for 5 years and wax paper or not it was awful!!! Since my parents liked it I had no choice or voice in the matter. A sickly sweet, soggy blob ended up in the trash every day. No wonder I never weighed over 99 pounds until I was in 12th grade.

I wonder which is worse though, the plasticizers in the baggies or the petroleum based paraffin used on the waxed paper.
I'm going to try wrapping my sandwiches in waxed paper for a while just because.

(2,613 posts)I still have the memory of opening up my brown paper bag lunch and smelling the odor of baloney mixed with the smell of an orange.
In my mind I'm smelling it now and I'm back in my lunch room 55 or so years ago.

(7,879 posts)I get the oversized sheets of checkered squares , 15"x15" I think, like they use in sandwich shops.
Wrap it up tight, put it in fridge for a few.
Just tastes better.
