Simple and Delicious Fruit Trifle Recipe (video)

The time for fresh berries is rapidly approaching (or is already here in some places! So, we made an amazingly delicious and silky smooth trifle. The extra smoothness comes from blending some vanilla pastry cream with some whipped cream. The whipped cream keeps it light, and the pastry cream really adds that silkiness and richness to the dish. The blend of vanilla with the macerated fruit is also an excellent blend.

Of course you can use whatever fruits or berries you have on hand. If you're going to use fresh blueberries, we recommend you macerate them as you would with the strawberries. There are lots of options for the fruits you can use, and you can fancy up the soak you use for the biscuits as well. We made our own biscuits, but you can purchase lady fingers quite easily. Also, don't make the mistake we did and overfill your container. You can also make smaller individual trifles in tall, straight-sided glasses if you want to avoid having to scoop out a big chunk.
