Fish tacos using perch. I'm making the slaw fresh with carrots and napa cabbage. I'd like to add a little purple cabbage right before serving.
On the side, for crunchiness, will be red and gold sweet peppers, the little ones
Dessert: cherries and Earl Grey tea.
On another note, I worked for hours on that dish from last night. That's the chicken/cucumber/couscous lettuce wraps. I changed my mind about the sauce, though, from cashew almond to peanut butter, kind of like what is used for sesame noodles. That's 'cuz I got a new jar of peanut butter and I wanted to use it. Also because, LOL, when I got to the cashew almond part, I saw that it was really CHOCOLATE cashew almond in the jar.
The peanut soy ginger et al sauce was great. In fact so good I was tasting it and started to worry that I might just have it as a soup!
Anyway, very time consuming but an absolutely delicious and low carb meal when served in lettuce cups. Of course, the fresh lettuce was a real plus.
Now I have to go over the recipe and find ways to cut the time investment down.

(22,855 posts)We met a fellow on the dock in McClellanville, SC and he gave the First Mate a 2-foot long flounder he gigged this morning. What a treat!
After cleaning it, well marinate it in milk then bake it in butter, white wine and capers. Corn on the cob and white rice on the side.
One of the joys of our voyage is all the great food weve found along the east coast!

Have a steak leftover from last night, but I'm thinking I might talk B. into takeout. Just haven't decided from where yet.
ETA: we decided not to go anywhere since I'm not hungry and nothing sound appetizing at all. B. really didn't want to go, anyway.
So, I'm slicing up the leftover steak and sauteing with butter, garlic and onions, making him a baked potato and peas to go with.

(18,094 posts)No meal planned, it is a work night for TJ.
Just eating stuff tonight.
So far:
Low fat cottage cheese with fresh blueberries
Ritz crackers with two kinds of sharp cheese
Garden salad with lots of spinach and a ranch dressing
Earl grey tea
Foods are that possible later:
Air cake is what TJ calls it. No sugars in a very light cake with fresh strawberry slices and some whipped topping. It is really mostly air.
Roast pork or leftover steak
Corn on the cob
Klondike bar.
I doubt I'll eat all the above, but maybe

(36,332 posts)Fresh prik nam pla for the salmon and rice. I'll probably brush the fillets with some dark soy, mirin, and oil to grill.
We love fish tacos, but I always take way too much time to make way too many toppings, just for the two of us.
