Woman loses more than 100 pounds following 'lazy keto' dietNearly two years ago, Megan Faraday, a now 25-year-old woman from Ontario, Canada, decided she was ready to make a change to her health.
"I just felt really uncomfortable with myself for a really long time, a whole lifetime of dieting and binge eating," Faraday told "Good Morning America." "I woke up one morning and was like 'I'm going to try keto and see if it sticks,' and it did."
Faraday has since lost more than 100 pounds following "lazy keto," a version of the popular ketogenic, or keto, diet, known for its focus on foods high in fat and low in carbohydrates.
For Faraday, following a "lazy keto" diet meant skipping counting every macronutrient, like proteins and fats, she was eating and focusing solely instead on the amount of carbohydrates, or carbs, she was eating every day.

(131 posts)Last year I lost 74 pounds on keto, going from 191 to 117. I'm a 5'3" woman, 66 years old.
This year, staying at home nearly 24/7, I've gone up to 128, eating a bit more but staying strictly keto.
Just FYI, I have type 1 diabetes and take insulin. The keto lifestyle has vastly improved my diabetes ... cut way down on insulin intake and improved my A1C score down to 5.5.
I don't count carbs but try to avoid them like the plague. You really lose your carb craving. My husband LOVES dessert and has it around, and I can easily avoid it.
Here is a typical day's food:
Breakfast: Never eat breakfast. (Keeps overall food intake lower.)
Lunch: 3 oz. chicken, 2 oz. cheese, tablespoon mayo, 2 big dill pickles
Dinner: 3 or 4 oz. protein, low-carb veggie or two ... e.g., roasted cauliflower, grilled asparagus, sauteed spinach, braised cabbage, sauerkraut
Snack examples: cheese, marinated goat cheese (Costco - delish), ricotta cheese mixed with sugar-free syrup such as butter rum, diet soda mixed with various sugar-free syrups, GG brand fiber crispbread (2 net carbs per cracker), roasted seaweed snack (very crispy), fried pork rinds, whole head of butter lettuce with oil/vinegar/Dijon mustard dressing
Tillamook makes a no-carb jerky that is very good.
