Smoking Cessation
Related: About this forumQuestion about juice
My husband and I are former smokers who were on the gum for many years. We both started smoking again when a family member was dying from cancer from the stress. Then we went back on the gum, but wanted to quit that too.
So we went to our local vaping store and bought a starter kit, Innokin brand, and their juice, which is made here vs. China and in a lab, etc. We bought the lowest nicotine of 0.6% in a menthol flavor, says 100% VG on the label. We bought 2 little squeeze bottles of it. That was nearly a month ago.

After stopping the gum and starting vaping, I had a few days of insatiable hunger, but that's gone, so I'm off the gum - yippee!
Between the 2 of us, we still have a little left in one of the bottles, but haven't touched the second. My question is - why is there no flavor left in the bottle we're using? Does it dissipate after a while? I suppose most vapers use more than we do, which is a 1/2 bottle each per month. Thanks
On edit, I changed the tank about a week ago. I just put a tiny bit of the juice on my finger and tasted it...it still has a lot of flavor. But I have no flavor with vaping...

(45,319 posts)vape pen. The one I use has a coil, they are about $2 a piece and I have swapped out once having been told that as the coil ages you will get less flavor.
So I'd ask the store you bought from if yours has a coil and if it does, go buy a new one, they'll show you how to put it in, it's easy.
That's my guess. The coil.

(2,311 posts)And it's easy to find many companies making delicious stuff.
But maintenance of your device is important. Cleaning is good, and replacing coils is important too. Either of those, plus the afore-mentioned vape tongue, can cause a loss of flavor.
Many vaping people switch up their juice flavors during the day...it seems that the particular sensors for that juice can overload. Switching keeps it fresher. I trade between a coffee-mocha and several fruity flavors during the day.

(24,911 posts)I'd clean out the innards of the tank by taking it apart (if you have the ability to do it), and running it under hot water until the wicks are as clean as possible. Juice also gunks up the coils, so after you've cleaned them, you might want to let them dry for about a day and then screw on the tank to the battery and pulse it until you see an orange glow on the coils. Then you refill the tank and you should taste your juice.
After two weeks to as much as a month, you ought to replace your coils, or if you have tanks that don't have changeable coils, just pick up another tank.

(3,033 posts)I bought a bottom coil tank and the flavor was great for a couple days, so I'm going to pick up another coil and see if that makes a difference.

(24,911 posts)If so, you have to nudge the "chimney" off the coil and take out the two loose wicks, rinse them off, and blot the coil dry before you screw it on the base and dry burn them. If you're still having the problem, it's time to get replacement heads because your coil is worn out.

(3,033 posts)It's a bottom coil clearomizer, but there's no visible cotton wick. Cheapo, since I'm new to vaping.
Here's something very similar to what I have:

I've been told that they're being discontinued, which doesn't surprise me, my local shop sells lots of discontinued stuff.

(24,911 posts)It's damn near impossible to find replacement coils for the stuff they're getting rid of.
Your best bet is a Kanger Evod, as opposed to the "value" ones. You might pay a bit more, but you're assured of decent quality and not some possible knockoff. The replacement coils are reasonably priced and so is the clearomizer.

(3,033 posts)I do not want to rebuild anything. I don't want to mess with cotton string and wire. I really really like what I have now. Take off the bottom, fill it and put it back on. Take off the coil and just screw on another coil and be done with it.
Will the Kanger Evod work? If not, can you recommend something like what I have? Like I said, my local shop sells old stuff. Thanks so much, I'm new to it and really need some good advice.

(24,911 posts)That's all you need. I'm learning to rebuild Kanger coils, but your best bet is to get a 5-pack of coils.

(6 posts)I found myself more relaxed with hookah smoking. I can control hookah sessions. I really like to experience shisha flavor mixed.
