At least more than previous meds have. I wouldn't say I feel happy exactly, but more motivated. I started a weight loss diet around the same time I started the meds and I'm sticking to it. I'm working on a family photo project scanning in thousands of photos and I'm keeping relatively happy with that. The main thing is I seem to not obsess over things quite as much and I return to a happier norm.
One thing I do notice is that my moods seem more volatile. I'm a little more edgy than before and while I don't get angry I do seem annoyed by things a little at times. However I also get over them MUCH faster than before. If things bothered me before they would fester more.
I'm not sure how much of this to attribute to the new meds, and how much to attribute to the life style changes like dieting and such. I'm wondering if the psychiatrist will want to play around with the dosages now that I MAY be seeing an effect?

(6,154 posts)I've had so many setbacks before I'm not going to count my chickens yet though The volatility worries me a bit because I feel like I could slip into a depression at any second all the time. And my downs aren't gone by any means either.

(6,154 posts)Got a driving test coming up next week that I'm worried about, I shouldn't be but I am.
Sometimes when I come out of a episode of depression I feel almost worse because I start to actively think about all the things I need to fix. Whereas before I wasn't thinking about ANYTHING, I was just stewing.
Continued success. Glad to hear the meds are having a positive effect. Very encouraging!

(6,581 posts)The mood swings could be a temporary side effect. Hang in there, and ask the doctor about it.

My philosophy when it comes to psych meds is to ride the wave and enjoy the good days.
