My mental state might get worse.

Due to being hit by a mini van. My therapist thinks I might have PTSD now... I'm a little bit afraid of cars now. As in cringing the whole time I was coming home from the hospital.

Then there's the physical recovery itself. It's going to be very frustrating. I can't get out of bed by myself.

Edit: I was on foot on a crosswalk by the way. Two hairline fractures on my right hip and a bruised finger. Full recovery expected.

If you have a therapist and can get to their office, go see them. Take care of mind and body.

How traumatic, I'm so sorry, Neoma! Treat yourself gently, and just concentrate on healing physically for now. What rotten luck, I hope you're not hurting too much.

i was in a car accident when i was a teenager and for the longest time i would cringe and grab the 'oh shit' handle if i caught a car coming out of the corner of my eye. it's been 17 or 18 years since the accident and i'm still a bit uncomfortable in the car.

take care of yourself and give yourself plenty of time to heal.

Rule of thumb in these things is the symptoms that distress you need to not be better associated with other causes--like the immediate shock of the accident, and they need to have some duration.

It may be something to watch, but I'm sort of surprised a therapist would go there. Usually they are pretty worried about laying the ground work that could lead to something factitious.

2 car related accidents and one near miss has really made it hard for me. I stopped driving for a year, took a bus or got a ride or walked or didn't go. Keep talking to your therapist. kind regards

Ow! Argh, eek!

Me: MOM! Is it pain med time yet?

I'm getting stronger, but jeez whiz is this a long slow process. Physical therapist exercises are challenging and takes a lot of time. I learned that magnesium is good for constipation problems (handy advice!) and oh well Duh, I need more calcium in me right now. And potassium... And maybe some B-12.

Did I mention I got a singing telegram for my birthday from the driver that hit me with her mini van? Yeah...that was interesting.

That singing telegraph sounds sweet. What a nice surprise. I know how hard pain can be. Keep getting better.

I can wear jeans, sleeping on my right side is okay, and I can sit in any chair now. The doctor said he'd let me put weight now, except 3 weeks is just a precaution, in case it'd crack more if it's not fully healed.

I'm getting strong muscles from basically lifting up my entire body when I use my walker to hop. Then there's the leg exercises I have to do twice a day. Only thing I'm worried about are my hamstrings.

Now it's just an annoying waiting game.
