Related: About this forumHi, everyone. Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, looking forward to 2013.
2012 - not my best year. But I made it, in no small part thanks to you. Not that there won't still be some bumps in the road.
My therapist threw a possible bump in the road last Thursday. Usually, I do the talking, she listens and comments. Thursday, we reversed, she did all of the talking, I listened, mostly kind of shell-shocked.
She told me all of this has bothered her since I came back in September. She said she pulled all of her old notes, as well as 2012 notes, and spoke with her supervising PhD (she is an MA LLP and must be supervised in her work by a PhD psychologist, even though she has her own private practice).
So, her bombshell, she said she and her supervisor believe I was misdiagnosed (told you I was uncomfortable with a 5 minute diagnosis) and actually have PTSD, not bipolar.
Honestly, this has me more confused. I wasn't thrilled with a bipolar diagnosis, but I was starting to make peace with it.
Now, everything is up in the air again. Don't know what to think, or what in pragmatic terms this would mean. We'll see what 2013 brings.
All neither here nor there, I wish everyone here the best for the upcoming year.
And again, thanks for giving me my life back. Love and Peace.

(24,146 posts)i was initially diagnosed as having just depression, but didn't figure out it was bipolar until the anti-depressants shot me into an extended hypermanic episode. i hope you guys can get it figured out easily and quickly.
2013 is going to be a better year

(6,581 posts)Honestly, I don't know if it matters EXCEPT for the reason you state. I don't want to take the wrong medication and have problems. I have enough problems as is.
