I think I have evidence that my new medications are starting to work

I've been through numerous bad storms, over the past couple of years, and never lost power. Yesterday my power went out. It was a clear, beautiful and quiet day and then all of a sudden, POOF!!

In the past my reaction would have been to panic and melt down in to a major anxiety attack. I have a sump pump so that's a constant concern. BUT instead of racing down the stairs, risking life and limb if I fell, I calmly walked down the stairs. Despite very heavy rainfall just the day before, no water was coming in to the crock. I then calmly called my brother to put him on notice, just in case water started coming in. He was surprised by the lack of expletives exploding from my mouth. He said he'd keep an eye on the outage report.

About an hour after that I was getting some stuff ready for the kitcats and I glanced at the microwave. Then the stove. POWER WAS BACK. I let him know.

In the past I would have had a semi meltdown and paced up and down the basement stairs either checking on things, or bailing water from the sump crock and lugging filled buckets up the stairs to empty them. That is exhausting work.

I just passed the 2 week point on the new meds. I was told that one of the would take at least that long, maybe a little longer, to notice a change in how I feel. It's amazing how much of a positive change it makes when you see a provider who believes you and knows what they are doing.

My temper would explode over really kind of trivial things. I lost patience with my kidcats, which is such an awful feeling, afterwards.

The only big issue for me, now, is I've almost completely lost my appetite. I force myself to eat at least one meal a day. This is something I've dealt with before, once losing almost 30 lbs. It's how I react to ongoing stress and I'll probably be like this until after the election results come in. Well, and depending on the outcome, maybe for the rest of my life.

The more stressed I am, the more I want to eat!

Some of us are just wired differently.

It can just be a night and day difference. I have some very close relatives in family who just suffer from anxiety and depression, but, they refuse to try meds for fear it will change them.
That's kind of the point, change, for the better. My life was transformed when I finally started taking Prozac 25 years ago. I suffered so long before I decided something had to give. I'm really happy for you!
