getting a bit of a handle on what meds do what, but that will take time. but rem and deep sleep numbers r pretty bad. it give u a score, and im getting low 70s.
big thing i got was that napping inst helping. it doesnt track them as a separate sleep, just rolls them into the night totals. but clearly they are light sleep that isnt doing much but wasting time.
so, im gonna try to resist, and see if it makes my night sleep better.
w more activity on top of it, hopefully i can get better. sleep is everything in my world. i get so very stoooopid when im exhausted. it discourages me. i need to find things i can do when tired that takes no brains. cleaning works. even zoning out at a screen, as long as its something good, not doomscrolling, seems good. puts me in a decent mood.
it does seem to be helping to keep track of it all. i need encouragement, and the numbers make me happy.

I was laying there thinking it had been an hour already and if I couldn't sleep, the whole thing would be a waste. Then the sleep lab tech knocked and came in. She told me I had sleep apnea and it had been two hours. I had been falling asleep and having events at the rate of 40 per hour. She showed me video of it in the morning.
Once diagnosed she put me on a CPAP, and I slept like a baby the rest of the night. When I woke up, I felt so good I wanted to get my CPAP that day, but it took about a week.
You didn't say you had sleep apnea, but it is amazing how screwed up our sleep can be without our knowing. I had both shoulders replaced in the last year and just recently got the right rehabbed enough to lay on that side. It's the first time I could roll over to either side and sleep for at least ten years. I've lost enough weight and improved my health enough that I may ask for another sleep study to see if I can lose the CPAP. That would be nice, but I sleep great with it.

(71,652 posts)but i lost a good bit of weight and the last study i had was clear. it mostly helped to keep my sinuses dry, which is the root of a lot of my problem.
i may get a new 1 soonish. have a backlog of medical issues that i need to get to. ill see how far i can get. i hate docs these days.

(408 posts)I went because my primary doctor assumed that I must have sleep apnea because I am overweight. I didn't have any symptoms, but I went.
I am a side sleeper, but they of course set me up on my back. I was very uncomfortable, and could have sworn I never fell asleep at all. I didn't have the sense that it was a shorter time than it was. It actually seemed longer.
When they changed me to a CLAP, I was desperate to get some sleep, so I twisted and turned until I got on my side and fell asleep.
I was told that, of course, the uncomfortable sleep proved that I had sleep apnea. They prescribed a CPAP, of course, and a follow up visit. When I went back, I had to fill out the how are you sleeping form again. Before CPAP, I had no trouble sleeping. With it, I had every symptom of sleep apnea.
I ended up getting an oxygen concentrator and an oral appliance. I actually think that the appliance actually helps. Not so sure about the oxygen.

(71,652 posts)had a head injury as a kid that i have slowly realized has affected me in an insidious way all my life. i did a course of rly hi dose edibles in 19 that cleared many of the tics i had from that. still have a little bit, but nothing like it was.
its rly my breathing issues that cause the most trouble. i have gooey lungs. lol.
but im curious if those central apneas cleared.
