In all my DU years I'd never been in this forum. Very helpful

At least I don’t think I’ve been in here.

Lots of great links and articles. I’m trying to get running again but something in my back went haywire at the beginning of the year. Starting PT next week.

Tried everything including PT, acupuncture et al. One day I had an idea and got him a used recumbent bike. Hasn’t had a single problem since. He doesn’t ride it very long at a time and without much resistance, but damn it did the trick and has continued to work for last few years.

Forgot to add, earlier this year my sister had back pain. I encouraged her to try the recumbent bike. Same good results. I think her problem was more disc related.

I also see a lot of misinformation about diet resistance exercise cardio etc.

This could be a good forum to dispel some of those ideas.

I've only kind of let myself get out of shape body fat percentage wise twice in my life. I can say it's a hell of a lot easier keeping weight off and staying in shape than it is getting out of shape then trying to get back again.

Also helps I stopped drinking so much f****** beer.

Who knew that made it hard to keep weight off even when you exercise? F****** science.

Do you mix in resistance training with cardio and walking? That can actually help speed up your metabolism so you lose more body fat. It also just burns more calories.
