has anyone had experience with this form of evil?
My wife was diagnosed with it on Oct 7 this year. She is a survivor of 9 years from cholangial carcenoma and we thought she was in the clear until she hit this wall.
What I've been reading doesn't really fill me with hope and I need a bit of conversation concerning it.
thank you for anything you can offer.

(11,678 posts)The National Institutes of Health conducts a lot of research on cancer treatments and other diseases. Other sources of cutting-edge research are Sloan-Kettering in New York and MD Anderson in Houston. The Midwest has the Mayo Clinic and the Cleveland Clinic.
Any type of carcinoma is serious, and a second opinion on both diagnosis and plan of treatment is helpful. Perhaps your wifes doctors will be willing yo help you get an appointment as soon as possible.
Wishing you and your wife the best.

(1,049 posts)Any chance you can get a second opinion at MD Anderson or Mayo Clinic, or some other renowned center of excellence? Perhaps there are new approaches and immunotherapies that could be useful. Some of these renowned centers are conducting leading edge research using new approaches and therapies. Best of luck to you both! (HUGS)

(1,049 posts)are on many insurance plans. If you are on regular original Medicare you should be able to choose MD Anderson or the Mayo clinic. I don't think either of them are in network with many, if any Advantage plans. Many employer based plans are in network with them as well. Best wishes to you and your wife.
