At what point does inflammation, a key component of the body’s immune defense system, swerve out of control and start to drive disease?

That’s the key question that a new research center, the Chan Zuckerberg Biohub Chicago, has been created to try to answer.

Reading that I don't understand why the "point" is important. bucolic_frolic Oct 2023 #1
Maybe people could be tested to see if inflammation hits that point applegrove Oct 2023 #2
Agree, but diet is complicated & the idea "a" tipping point will be found? bucolic_frolic Oct 2023 #4

Keeping one's inflammation just below the point doesn't make much difference.

I do much better on low sugar, no white flour but also whole wheat flour only about 3-4 times a week. Ice cream in moderation. And quality proteins, no farm raised. Also not a fan of meat substitutes. They're all starches, oils, complex substitutes. Another key is under-eating, and stop eating by 7 pm. All of this helps burn calories, and bloat ebbs. Just my opinion though, YMMV

where it might create the opportunity for cancer. I think it was baby aspirin people with heart conditions were taking reduced inflammation and cancers. I think that was what happened. It is pretty vague as memories go but I think that is it.

It seems inflammation is another thing like gut biome that was always there but hardly every studied and then you study it and BANG you find a whole bunch of important info. At least I think that is the hope.

They will find degrees of inflammation. Low risk, and higher risk levels. It will vary by genetic makeup, diet, exercise, pollutants (another source of inflammation). Do they measure our plastic content yet?

But I get your point. Everything's connected, and there are parts that are new or underexplored.

In the mean time, try to eat to live and not live to eat. Simple advise that goes counter to almost every advertisement on tv and in print.
