Addiction & Recovery
Related: About this forumFinally reached the point where I rarely think about drinking!
It's been over 4 1/2 years since I quit. I noticed for about the last month or so, I rarely thought about booze. I though it would never go away, but it finally did.
To all you folks new to sobriety, it truly does get easier. Sometimes it takes a while. Like I always say, "It's never easy, but it does get easier". Hang in there!

It is a simple program, but not an easy one....In about a week I will celebrate my 39th AA birthday, I am 81 now so have spent almost half of my life around the tables... And it does get better and better as time passes. Just don't allow the memories of those days to fade.
Like they say"If you don't remember your last drunk/high you haven't had it yet"
Congrats.

For me it's been 14 years... rarely have any drinking dreams anymore (day or night).
