I'm recovering with Covid this week and still can't eat or drink much. Oddly, this has been a blessing since I have completely stopped the alcohol and have managed to drop a few pounds. If the Covid doesn't kill me, it may help me take "the cure". As an added bonus, I'm grateful not to have to recycle those bottles.
BTW, I was vaxxed and double boosted but still managed to get Covid while traveling. Day One was scratchy throat, Day Two was sniffling, sneezing, coughing and body aches. Day Three was gastric cramps and diarrhea. Today is only mild cough and headache, so I think I'm well on the mend.

Not sure I will be able to keep off the sauce after Covid, though. Good luck irisblue and keep updating with your sobriety progress.

(she lives in the lower half of the house)

It was strange to see beer cans in the recycle bin afterwards... It's been 13 years. Also, there is a leftover can of beer in the cooler out back which she hasn't removed since the party... a month ago. I just noticed it.

A friend of mine was in the FBI and a heavy wine drinker. He was a bit paranoid about recycling all his wine bottles in case they investigated hm. So he would put one or two of his bottles in his recycling bin Then he would drive to a gas station and toss the rest of the in their bin!

"at least I'm an ethical environmentally aware drunk, I do recycle".

They laughed at me as I deserved.

I hope your friend got clean & sober, I cannot imagine their life/work stresses

He was diagnosed with scirossis (sp?) of the liver. Shockingly it wasn't related to his drinking but hereditary. His mom died of it several years ago, and she was a non drinker.

And half the women there said the same thing, that they were embarrassed to put all their empties out for recycling because of what the trash pick up guys and the neighbors would think...
