Anyone watching "Da 5 Bloods"?
Spike Lee's new one. I just started it--it's quite long, over 2 1/2 hours. It got good reviews in the paper this morning so I thought I'd give it a shot.

(31,774 posts)The called it "slow, labored and stilted," and said, "everything about it is off."
"In the end, Da 5 Bloods feels like a clumsy hybrid of two fine impulses to make a heist movie set in Vietnam, and to make a statement about race in 2020. Alas, each intention doesnt serve the other, and so both go unrealized."

I'm a big fan of Lee's work. I find it groundbreaking, insightful, and beautifully executed, so I'll draw my own conclusions ... as soon as I get a Netflix account.
