Bob Dylan on Netflix: Rolling Thunder Revue.

Martin Scorsese has made a second Bob Dylan documentary. This one about the rollicking 1975 tour Rolling Thunder Revue.

The concert footage is magnificent.

Dylan looked great when he was 34! There is new interview footage with old man Dylan which is pretty interesting.

There is also a lot of not anywhere near the truth bullshit that folks who know Dylan’s career will pick up on. Kind of funny actually.

I really recommend it. It is highly enjoyable.

It was great. I was never a Dylan fan, but after watching that I am now. I can understand why he got a Nobel for literature. Be sure to use the closed caps so you can understand the lyrics easily.

Dylan is in amazing voice, best you’ll ever see him IMO. And there are vignettes galore.

Allen Ginsberg dancing.

Joni Mitchell creating Prisoner of the White Lines on the Freeway out of thin air. Genius.

Dylan and Baez wondering how they didn’t get married (which ends with Dylan saying thinking will fuck you up, life is an affair of the heart).

And so much more.

I saw him 7 times and regret to this day that I didn't see Rolling Thunder. What an assortment of talent. Despite all that went on....his performances were flawless, musicians were at the top of their game (as usual) and the rest was just delightful. A must see if you are a Dylan enthusiast.
P.S. Scarlett Rivera was mind blowing good!

A really disjointed effort. It was certainly interesting to watch, but not something I would watch again. The interviews with the film maker from the tour were pretty lame. I am interested in the CD set though as there are 5 full professionally recorded sets from the tour. I am wondering how much of that I already have in my massive Dylan boot collection.

I think my expectations were too high for this, just my two cents.
