Watched "A Real Pain" on Hulu
and thought it was wonderful. Jesse Eisenberg, (who also wrote and directed) and Kieran Culkin are cousins who go on a Holocaust tour of Poland and reminisce about their departed Jewish Grandma along the way. Beautifully written, acted and photographed, with the music of Chopin along for the ride. Funny, moving and thoughtful. Culkin deserves the Oscar for his complex performance. Loved it.
Croney
(4,937 posts)I found it intrusive and distracting. It was mostly just...LOUD.
I love Chopin and kept rewinding to reread the closed caption titles of what was playing. So... I guess the distraction was my own fault. 😁
La Coliniere
(1,196 posts)which I often do in many of the things I watch nowadays. I often have to have closed caption on to fully understand the dialogue, but I didnt need to have them on with this film. I also love Chopin and thought the music complimented the movie.
