On Netflix - Self-Made
This is a series for one season only.
It's the story of Madame C. J. Walker, the African American woman who built an empire manufacturing hair and beauty products for black women. It covers an interesting period in American history - the turn of the 19th to the 20th century.
Intelligent writing and wonderful acting. Very enjoyable.

I enjoyed Self-Made thoroughly.
In my eyes, Octavia Spencer can do no wrong.
(I can't bring myself to see Ma, though. Darlin', I love you and think you're a goddess, but I can't abide horror films.)

I don't know if I'd want to see my favorite actor in horror, though.
:shudder:
