I took the plunge into the Turkish series, Bir Bulut Olsam (BBO) (If I Were A Cloud)
Now that I'm caught up with Sefirin Kisi and have to wait for the next episode like the rest of the world, ugh, it was time for BBO. I was sure it was time for a book break but that didn't last long.
Oh, jeez. The lead is probably at the height of his very good looks. Everyone in the cast appears to be giving it their all. Love the doctor character. He's a cool cucumber so far. Bless them for airing this series with English subtitles. I'm still hoping that Netflix will arrange to air it.
It's a terrible patriarchy that I don't have much knowledge about. Here in America we fought good fights for rights and achieved many. I took my mother's attitude toward my going to college as how life was in general. She didn't get to finish high school and talked about my finishing college as a given.
Now, in this country, we're facing the possibility of taking huge giant steps backward. Watching what happens in Turkey, a nation that enjoyed some democracy, tells me that long ago is not so far away for us. What happens in Turkey in these tv series occurs in this century. Inspiration to gotv.
