Related: About this forumI'm looking for advice on buying a 'medical alert system'
I'm 71, live alone, and have health issues.
I'm thinking of getting one of those medical alert systems where I can push a button worn on a cord or wrist device if I need to signal help.
I don't have a landline, nor want to pay for one just for this, so am looking at something that works off my smart phone, wifi, etc.
Any info, suggestions, experiences would be much appreciated.
Thanks

(12,858 posts)I text him between 7 and 9am and 5 and 7pm every day. (He live 500miles away.)
If he doesn't hear from me by 2 hrs after, he will send out alert to apt manager and health care service.
My primary care doctor thought this set-up was priceless!!

(2 posts)Figure I'd continue this thread, instead of starting a new one. I'm also looking for a new medical alert system for my mother. Curious if you ended up getting one, and which one you got. Been doing research and comparing. Definitely want one with fall detection and one that's mobile. Any ideas on the new Apple watch with fall detection?
