Twitter is amused, I am not

The UK Justice Secretary on the BBC this morning said this:

“Misogyny is absolutely wrong, whether it’s a man against a woman, or a woman against a man”

Much mocking of the hideous human who has been foisted on us by little englanders has ensued, but this is not funny, and he did not say this in error. This is the Deputy PM and Justice Secretary. In a world of systematic misogyny, the chap in charge of the reform of the justice system is doing whataboutery. It is the equivalent to the #NotAllMen crowd. It is on purpose. It is sending a message to the women and girls of the UK that their very valid fears and concerns matter not one jot to the men in charge. He has trivialised the lived experience of millions of women and this is the exact message he intended to send. Twitter saying he is an idiot, and mocking his stupidity, allows the patriarchy to do what it does best, again. Nothing funny about that.

9. It does exist, though likely quite rare

from the psy's that have arisen to explain all narcissism in the post-Trump era, it's really more about narcissism, people who are totally unaware of anything but themselves and haven't a clue there are differences of opinion about most things.

Narcissistic rage, abuse, narcissistic supply are terms all over the place.

12. Since women do not have the systematic power as men do, it really does not exist.

The whole point of misogyny is the systematic power in patriarchy.

Not stupid - while the mockers are re-tweeting, they are amplifying his evil message

Why is he in the position that he holds? He's practicing misogyny as he speaks. The GQP, over here, in the USA, is pretty much in sync, they do all they can to control what and how women pursue rights and freedom in our democracy.

8. We laugh at the stupidity but it is a serious issue.

It's as if we shrug off what these people do with humor, but they are damaging civil discourse. Why has this guy been elected? To give voice to absolute idiocy. Instead of debating other more pressing issues, we stop to turn the spotlight on him as if what he said is important. Twitter has provided a place for every idiot with something stupid to say a soap box to get attention. The more outrageous the better.
