Doesn't mean I or we care less about women here. I thought this was a women's issues forum, understanding the lack of women's rights everywhere just points out what we're up against. It's not as if anyone could get to Iran to help them right now.

(35,883 posts)I have a friend who is there that I communicate with when she's able to get a cell signal. Things are really bad.
Her brother, who has been the one tasked with the responsibility of chaperone of the females in the family, is being treated for cancer. If he dies, they will be destitute. They are already having trouble finding food. He hasn't been able to work, and even before he got sick, work was difficult to find.
The only ones doing OK are the Taliban and they are basically terrorizing and stealing from everyone.
She was a professional archeologist and a teacher.
Please keep them in your hearts.
