Hi Honey, I'm Homo! Sitcoms, Specials, and the Queering of American Culture

This is a book by Matt Baume. If you have a chance, read it! It has some really good historical information on how we were/are portrayed in the genre of the sitcom. It discusses the challenges we faced/face and adds some great tidbits about GLBT progress and failures through the years.

I made it a "couple activity" with my husband and listened to the book together. He is a big TV/Movie aficionado. Oh, and he is gay too.

There were a few comedies left of the list, but I think that show is mentioned. It just doesn't have its own chapter. It starts with "Bewitched" and ends with "Modern Family". It also doesn't address non-network shows. Also, animated shows don't get any play either.

Still, it is a good book.

Under the Whispering Door deals with a lot of issues, including death. By the Cerulean Sea is a fantasy of sorts with a wonderful collection of magical children, including Lucifer aka Lucy (who happens to be the son of Satan).
