The BBC should be considered an Trans-antagonistic Hate News Site

Once upon a time the BBC was a liberal and progressive newsite that provided objective news and opinion.

However, since before JK Rowling was revealed to be a Trans Exclusionary Radical Feminist, a group who often use the term "Gender Critical Feminist" as a euphenism, the UK media has becotrame increasing trans-antagonistic in thier coverage of trans people and our issues.

Nowhere is this more evident than at the BBC where the government funded news organization has taken steps that recently that have caused numerous LGBTQ employees to leave the company:

At the center of the epicenter of this exodus is the decision to publish a trans-antagonistic article accusing transpeople of being abusers and predators trying to pressure lesbians into having sex with trans women. They do this using a poll with only 80 respondants from a trans-antagonistic source as evidence:

Then to add fuel to the fire, one of the people interviewed by the article, Adult film actress Lily Cade, released a hate filled screed against trans people calling on the general public to commit violence and even lynch trans women:

The BBC responded not by taking the awful article down, but by just removing Ms Cade out of said article:

Of course the guardian isn't much better than the BBC... And all of this comes on the heals of the BBC leaving the Stonewall Diversity Champions Program out of fear of bias.

A fear of bias that seems to come up if it in any way is in favor of Trans people and not against as the BBC has no issue defending their trans-antagonistic article:

My point being this, until they take steps to address and correct this bias, the BBC should be considered an anti-Trans news source.

But I fear that if we do not take notice of what is happening in the UK news media, the same thing could very well happen here in the USA where the media could decide to team up with the right with their war on trans people.

3. I had no idea!

You would think a news organization could learn something about how the world changes and grows.

I'm a 68 year old cis woman. I had to expand my understanding of these issues by talking to people, reading thoughtful reporting, and then knowing a young person who came out as trans. Even feel comfortable using the "they" pronouns.

Lily Cade's screed not only called upon violence toward the trans community, but was filled with the usual nonsense about how trans-women commit acts of sexual assault upon cisgendered women. You know, the usual narrow-minded, stereotypical hatred that the trans community - especially women - have to face, with a dash of violence and murder mixed in.

Coming from most people, this would be bad enough. But Cade herself is a serial sexual abuser, who has been accused of sexual assault by many women over the years.

By giving her a voice (until they just quietly yanked her screed from the piece), the BBC not only endorsed violence and murder against trans-people, they showed they also don't give a damn to do their homework and do background checks on the people they source in their work. A simple Google search reveals Cade's own history of sexual assault. Worse yet, when they yanked her hatred and calls for violence, they made no mention or note of it - no "We became aware of Ms. Cade's own history of sexual assault", forget a "We do not endorse Ms. Cade's call for violence." Just a "move along, nothing to see here", acting like she was never involved in the first place.

Like others in this thread, there was a point where I trusted and respected the BBC. At times, I'd even use them as a second or third opinion to fact-check the US media, because I felt at times we could count on the BBC or The Guardian more than the New York Times or even CNN. But no more. The BBC has clearly become a hateful "news" source and is more than happy to promote hatred - and even violence - against the trans community.

Sad. I once thought better of you, BBC. But now, you can go to hell.

7. Stonewall UK was targeted by hate groups

Stonewall UK has been under attack by hate groups who are using anti-trans rhetoric to mobilize anti-gay and anti-LGBTQ extremists to attack public institutions for tolerating sexual minorities of any type.

It's an atrocious assault on human rights.
