"Israeli military drops charges against soldiers accused of sexually assaulting Palestinian detainee"

This is the headline from an article dated 03/12/26 from NBC News sourcing the AP. Despite video evidence of the soldiers raping and beating the detainee the military has dropped the charges as indicated. This will no doubt renew the calls about lack of accountability and the need for the rabid right wing in Israeli government to face trial for war crimes. So the US is declaring itself to be on the side of those who do such things. The damage done to the US standing in the world by these fascists is immense and will take many decades to recover if even possible.
It should be noted that the response of the rabid right wing in Israel to the incident was to celebrate the soldiers and to go after and indict the one who leaked the video of the incident. The article notes what condition the man was in:
"A medical staffer familiar with the case who spoke on condition of anonymity out of fear for his safety said the detainee arrived at a civilian hospital in life-threatening condition with blunt trauma to the abdomen and the chest and fractured ribs."
Additionally the article notes:
"A video of the alleged assault, which was aired by Israeli news, shows soldiers taking a detainee into an area they cordoned off with shields in an apparent attempt to hide their actions. The indictment said the soldiers assaulted the Palestinian prisoner and sodomized him with a knife, causing multiple injuries."
