JERUSALEM (AP) A U.S. software company said Friday it blocked the fundraising account of the Palestinian-led boycott movement against Israel following a complaint by a pro-Israel group that the campaign has links to militant organizations.
Donorbox, which makes fundraising management software, confirmed that the BDS campaigns account was temporarily blocked while it investigates the allegations.
The BDS movement called the Israeli move McCarthyite.
The decision came in response to a complaint from Shurat HaDin, an Israeli advocacy group that files lawsuits around the world against Israels foes, submitted in coordination with Israels Strategic Affairs Ministry.
This decision does not mean that we consider BDS to be a nefarious organization. We are merely reviewing evidence following this complaint. Their donation forms were closed as a precautionary measure, Donorbox said in a statement. The San Francisco firm, whose product is used by BDS and other nonprofits to collect online donations, gave no indication how long the review would take.

(3,386 posts)One of the leaders of BDS has effectively admitted it. The first and foremost goal of BDS is to enforce right of return which means the end of Israel as a Jewish state.

(58 posts)under Israeli control are not Jews and aren't going anywhere, the idea of a "Jewish state" is problematic. Conditions there already show how such a system functions. Since the two-state solution is no longer viable, what do you suggest? It seems to me there are only two possible outcomes: Either half the population grinds its boot into the face of the other half forever, or Israel becomes a "democratic" state for everyone under its authority.
As for the right of return, if Jews can immigrate from anywhere in the world and become citizens by virtue of their religious ethnicity, why shouldn't those forcibly driven from their homes to make the Israeli state a reality also be allowed to return and to be compensated?

(3,386 posts)A two state solution si still viable. If it is not, then it is only because the Palestinians and other Arabs refuse to accept a Jewish state in their midst. What makes you think a two state solution is not possible? Second, most Arabs were not forcibly removed. What about the right of the Jews to a state of their own?
if you can look at a map of the disposition of illegal Israeli settlements in the West Bank and military control there, I suppose a two-state solution is possible if one of the states is a series of isolated Bantustans. As to who was forcibly removed, I'm more inclined to take the word of the Palestinians, the UN, and most non-Zionist historians. They put the number at around 700,000.
Suggesting that Jews have a right to an ethnic/religious state of their own is like saying that Christians have a right to their own country on American soil and that only Christians are entitled to equal privileges and protection under the law because they have a right to live here and others don't. If half the people in the US were not Christians, they might refuse to accept a Christian state for the same reasons Palestinians refuse to accept a Jewish state in Israel.

(3,386 posts)is that Jews are merely a religion. That isn't true, and never was true. Jews are a nation or peoplehood, who are just as entitled to a state of their own as the French or Japanese or Americans. Once you accept that, then we can start on some of the other lies burdening you.

(58 posts)are a nation or a religion or both or something else entirely is irrelevant to their treatment of non-Jews under their state control in Israel, Gaza, and the Westbank.
Denying 20% of your own citizens equal status under your laws is not a matter of peoplehood. It is a matter of discrimination based on ethnic and religious exclusion. It is not something one encounters in France, Japan, or the US.
Giving Gaza back to the Palestinians and then turning it into the world's largest ghetto because you don't like who they elect to govern them has nothing to do with nationhood.
Maintaining a 50-year military occupation while slowly colonizing the land and dispossessing the indigenous residents is not something the civilized world accepts, whether in Tibet, Israel or anywhere else.
What I have said here is true or it is not. If it a lie you wish to disabuse me off, then prove it, but do please try to refrain from calling me a liar. It adds nothing to your argument.

(3,386 posts)and changing the subject.
When I challenged you on the lie that BDS does not want to destroy Israel, you raised the lie that Jews are just a religion. When challenged on that, you now claim that it's irrelevant, when in fact the denial of Jewish self determination is what caused and maintains the war. I'm not going to do that dance. Have a nice day.
