My nephew, who is living and working in Kyiv, came to visit us in Düsseldorf 6 days ago. He and some friends had to hire a car to Poland, since the trains were fully booked. He said most border crossings into Poland, an easternmost EU border, had an 18 hour wait. They drove south, which was a big detour, to a less-used border crossing, where the wait was “only” six and a half hours.
