PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- For a second day in a row, travelers were met with delays and cancellations at 30th Street Station in Philadelphia due to Amtrak's overhead power issues.

{snip}

On Thursday, Amtrak service was temporarily suspended between Philadelphia and New York due to overhead power issues near Metropark. ... On Friday morning, Amtrak announced overhead power issues again, this time near Rahway.

All Keystone Service trains were canceled between New York and Philadelphia, only operating between Philadelphia and Harrisburg.

Speed restrictions were in place between New York and Philadelphia.

Keystone 646 is the first eastbound to travel Philly to New York so far, but it's on time.

None of the links on Twitter for Amtrak alerts work from the Transitdocs map.

Yesterday the maps were a mess, with trains showing up that weren't on the maps.

A crew digging a trench in the street sawed right through my internet connection. The crew is installing cable for a rival company.

I told them last week that there was a buried cable there. "Oh, we won't be working near that."

No, the supervisor did not mark the path the underground cable took. He did mark the pavement with a pink "X" where the machine operator and crew would be cutting. Apparently they took that as a sign to saw more resolutely. I pointed out to them the cut cable. The supervisor said he'd call in a service request.

At the end of the day, they filled in the hold with the cut cable, paved it over, and went home.

In my old neighborhood there are no underground utilities yet.

I hope you get service restored soon.

I couldn't report the outage online, because ... no online.

I couldn't report the outage over the phone, because reporting that your cable has been cut by people who don't undertand the concept of marking buried lines is not an option. I was advised by the helpful AI-generated voice on the line to try resetting my modem.

I went to one of my provider's bricks and mortar stores yesterday after work and filed the service request. I have learned that the staff at that store are unusually competent.

I watch Leaman Place (Paradise) from time to time, but the action doesn't last too long. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz, there's goes a westbound. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz, there's goes an eastbound.

How's the sky in Ft. Madison, Iowa, today? It had been hazy due to Canadian smoke.

Thanks, and good morning.
