It was designed to illustrate the amount of space taken up by different modes of transportation. It wasn't intended to be a complete primer on urban planning.

Pure gridlock...we have something like 1,000,000 people in 25,000,000 cars...at least that is what it feels like.

Public transportation sucks.

And what are our "leaders" locally and in the state doing/saying?

Zip.

Oh ya...bullet train to Vegas and/or bullet train from LA to SF.

But I can't get to LAX from 16 miles away.
