How dare women go to college? DeSantis' new university trustee pick will fix it. ǀ Opinion

Florida’s governor appointed Scott Yenor, a political science professor at Boise State University, which is conveniently located 2,273 miles from Pensacola, to sit on the board of trustees at the University of West Florida, a public state university.

Yenor frequently mouths off from his perch at the Claremont Institute, a right-wing think tank in California, where he has written fondly of DeSantis for fighting “cancerous DEI programs” in public universities.

“Florida’s university system was beginning to rot from DEI sickness. Governor DeSantis has targeted the blight and occupied the moral high ground in defense of the American university,” Yenor wrote in a Claremont Institute piece entitled “Making Woke-ism Die.”

Yes, Gov. Ron, inject that fawning white lad into Florida’s university system.

Yenor has zeroed in on the real problem of higher education: That it is populated by too many women who should be off making babies instead of advancing their careers and furthering the “personal and political evils of feminism.”

Who would want to go to school? I know about the many perks especially in athletics but shit. Many colleges and universities in red states will fall below the rest of the country and tons of money lost.

Given many colleges already have a shortfall of qualified applicants, beyond just the obvious fair equity issue, if you look at who the successful students and top grads are, its significantly the women. Many colleges are already on the cusp of closing and this will push many more over the edge. I guess if you don't play football, why would you go to college is the baseline secret logic in all this?
