one's way. She's a creative graphic design artist who has become disabled that was then further worsened by injury; she has experienced losses and lived on the streets in her vehicle which was lost when a tree fell on it, but the worst was the loss of her beloved Golden Retriever, Ally. Her extreme grief finally opened her heart to a new little Yorkie, little baby bear, Osito. Her latest projects are specially designed pet-themed cards in which you can write your own note of support to family or friends experiencing similar grief and loss, in celebration of a birthday, graduation, Gotcha Day, etc...or any time you are just thinking of someone to express yourself or in gratitude for a gift in a personal way. She has also designed holiday coloring books, or digital self-print files, for any age that can handle a gel pen, marker, or crayon -- it's not too early to shop for a unique present one can't buy elsewhere because they're all limited editions and affordable for the custom work she's created for your special someone. Although challenged everyday, she works hard on these projects and is honest and expressive about the perfection she expects to deliver to her customers. She wants these projects to grow into a better life for her and her companion, so driven is she for a place of her own; personal transportation; and an independent life.

(4,635 posts)My friend has temporarily taken down her websites. My friend is seriously ill and in hospital. Her doctors say it will take some time, lots of rest, and perhaps some rehabilitative work for whatever recovery she can manage. She says right now, the trolls on social media are just too much to deal with mentally; it tears her down. Even I, so many miles away, have no idea what this will mean for her as I pray for her recovery and return to some stable housing that she so desperately needs to realize her plans for a thriving yet very small business she's tried to grow to make ends meet, one that she can manage from "home" and a reunion with her furbaby who is now in the care of a trusted nearby friend. I do believe she's an honest person who has tried to work as hard as she can to meet the challenges she has faced over time and circumstances despite her disability. I hope DUers will keep checking for her return to sharing her artistic talent. I'll update when and if she does.

(4,635 posts)Her patrons were able to get her to do a GoFundMe and she raised enough for some post-hospitalization medical referrals and some safe housing in a motel while something income appropriate works out for her and her poochie. I am hopeful that housing initiatives in her city work out eventually - there is so much homelessness in the area! Being single with no human kids and a little furbaby makes it more challenging to get into housing programs. You'd think the disabilities would help, at least, but....She's returned to work and has new products to purchase for October, November, December holidays. PLEASE visit her web site shopping page to view her beautiful cards now available. Join her FB groups and check out the shopping!
