(26,218 posts)Jerome Powell better not raise interest rates. A person with iffy credit can't afford to buy a new car, he/she gets socked with 15% interest rates.

The highlights --
TUE: Employment Cost Index - considered the best measure of wages/salaries. The downside is that it comes out only quarterly, unlike the better known average hourly earnings that come out as part of the jobs report Friday
WED: Fed Decision on interest rates at 2p ET. Though nobody thinks that they will be raised or lowered today
THUR: Productivity & Unit labor costs
FRI: The big monthly Jobs report
PCE inflation, the Fed's favorite inflation measure,
Personal income and spending
EDITED to remove PCE inflation and Personal income and spending (Friday) - Thanks MahatmaKaneJeeves for the DU mail notification. I have a little chyron listing of important economic reports above my near-term calendar. It has last week's reports, dark-shaded gray to indicate obsolete, ignore; and this week's reports. Somehow, despite the dark gray "warning", I added the PCE inflation and Personal income and spending from last week.
Yes, now I remember PCE inflation and even posting about it. https://www.democraticunderground.com/10143150580#post1
