The usual crowd of rightwingnut Cuban "exiles" are outside in the rain at Miami's Versailles restaurant/cartel meeting place waving their F*** JOE BIDEN and tRump flags and signs warning Americans of the threat that Cuba represents to all of mankind.
Maybe some Democratic candidates should go there and talk them into voting for Biden with the same talking points as Rubio, Scott, et al.

(3,001 posts)Took some of my visiting family from Cuba there. They wanted to see the vipers nest, in person. Food was nasty, dry chicken and the black beans were tasteless with overcooked tasteless white rice.
Not to mention how filthy it was, and low-wage surly the service.
Nothing like real Cuban food in Cuba.

(11,218 posts)I thought they were only surly to Anglos.
It's been a few years since I was in Miami. We were going on a cruise out of there. The manager of the hotel that we were staying in recommended a much better - and closer - Cuban restaurant in Miami Beach. (I forget the name.) He's also the one that told me that "pendejo" meant "stable genius" in Spanish.

(3,001 posts)I am fluent in Spanish and speak English with very little Cubania accent.
My family who were visiting speak in steep Cubania style Espanol.
And, yes, the surly service at the Versailles is for everyone.
Love the stable genius story.

Bush, while Jeb Bush held power as Governor. Horrible impact on the U.S. and all its policy.
I'll never forget the photo of Miguel Saavedra chasing a Venezuelan protester in Miami down the street, with the photographer catching the moment Saavedra threw his megaphone at the young student protester's head! Absolutely disgusting!
Saavedra didn't like Obama, of course!
Saavedra's always prepared to smoosh any music by singers if they go soft on Cuba!
(Someone forgot a courtesy shield for the grandmother before rolling her downtown!)
Saavedra and others partying in the streets because Fidel Castro died.
Of course, US Congressman Mario Diazt-Balart mentions Pres. Obama
in his photo-op-grabbing speech for the occasion. Gotta strike while the iron is hot.

Gotta despise anyone who would help Cubans in Cuba while the US embargo intends to starve them until they overthrow the revolutionary government! That has always been the only intention: bring suffering to the people until they accept the US government as their Lord and savior, regardless. It has been this way since the 1800's.

(3,001 posts)I get that republicans like and promote the criminals and liars, but, unfortunately the Dem party's candidates speak to and pander to the various liars and criminals heading up intransigent exile groups with the same talking points as Republicans.
And you know what they say about Dems running on Republican platforms... voters will vote for the Republican.
Yeah, Saavedra is a real piece of work. He gets to bend the ears of our policy makers. Just crazy.
Thanks for the post outlining the crazy that RW "exiles" bring to American politics. tRumpism can't hold a candle to Cuban/Venezuelan "exile" hateful and barbaric crazy.
