Hats off to the Nevada Dems of Las Vegas. "Golden State Visits The Silver State" was very well organized. They took great care of us; they were ready with food, water, training and materials. Outstanding folks.

I like canvassing because it's nice to meet people as citizens. I met a couple of good folks out there. We quit a little early because my partner was overcome by the heat though. It's also interesting to hear locals talk about the political landscape.

Same issue with people not being home. Most of the time me and my canvassing partner simply left little Hillary cards at the door, so people knew we had come by. But we ran into a few people I will never forget and who will always inspire me. One, a Philippina in her late eighties, proudly told me about her large family and how they all vote Democratic, because they all work hard and know the Democrats are for people like them. Another woman, a middle-aged Latina, was so excited to vote for the first woman president and seemed really happy to have someone to tell that to who wouldn't mock her for it; she almost giggled when she said it, like she was telling me a secret. An African American man in his 60s originally from Georgia, chatted us up for a good 20 minutes as he worked on his old 1940s Ford pickup. He talked about all the tough times he had been through working as a mechanic in the service, and how he had just retired and could finally enjoy life. He spoke wistfully of family back in Georgia who were not so lucky.

When you canvass to get out the vote, at least around here, they only send you to addresses they expect you to find supporters. The Clinton campaign has definitely done its homework. These folks were loyal Democrats, and happy to see us kindred spirits. I was also impressed with the tremendous diversity of the folks we were contacting. The walking in the heat was exhausting, but very gratifying.

But I got a job and 12 year old that keeps me close to home for now.

Some of the group van out there in Oct. to knock on doors but my schedule doesn't let me so I just keep working the phones.
CA is reliable Blue so we get to divert our resources and energies to swing sates like NV and CO.
We did a lot of calling to CO in 2012.
Our ground game will win this election. Trump doesn't have one.
GOTV!
