posting it cause I missed it before, and I really like Al, and Hillary really likes Al too. Look at how happy she is to be stumping with Al.

3. He's my pick-for her first term only. His demo would strengthen the ticket.

Sad to say but realistic. Statistically even some Dems have trouble choosing a woman candidate.

The idea occurred to me as soon as I realized he was her very first endorsement. -Left me wondering if they'd gamed it all out this far. The idea of him ping-ponging with Trump while taking the heat off of her? Yum. And he's beloved by colleagues and constituents alike.

She could choose someone younger and with more diverse appeal -Castro or Becerra, for instance- once she establishes her presidential creds. Him being my pick is based on that eventuality.

Still, I'm happy with whoever she picks. I think she knows what she's doing!

I will lose my mind with glee. lol.

Franken is very progressive.

Franken is an excellent campaigner.

Franken can connect to people who are tired of politics as usual.

I like him more than Warren. I find Warren kind of weird. Her demeanor and way of talking. She doesn't have range. She attacks Trump well but just has one way to do it. She is also repetitive. I give her kudos for her expertise in economic issues but find her a one issue type. JMO

At the same time I Trust our nominee's judgment and people smarts to pick whoever she thinks will be a good fit for her and fit to be Prez.

. . for all the reasons you said.

He would be a great asset as a candidate, in the VP debate and in the campaign generally. He's articulate, witty, can relate to regular folks, and he is (as Charlie Pierce once said) "ridiculously comfortable in front of a camera)." I think he'd add real energy to the ticket.

And I think he'd be really good in the office, too.
In addition to his wit and overall smarts, he is a serious, knowledgeable and hard-working politician.

I'm more enthusiastic about Franken as a potential candidate than any of those reputedly on the short list.

Agree will all the good characteristics listed above! What fun.... And he would balance out Hillary's perceived stiffness (I don't think she is - but apparently some people do). He is so warm, friendly, naturally witty, but really smart and serious about his political views! He helped me through a rough period when I lived out in the boondocks with no NPR and all the radio I had to listen to was Air America via satellite.
