profile he gave to Killer Mike and Nina Turner. Despite being a political junkie and hip hop head for 20 years, I'd never heard of either of them. Hopefully both of them will be able to do good things with their new found fame.

It was too bad that most other black folks had never heard of them either and that the one high profile black surrogate Sanders was always putting in front of a camera -- Cornel West -- is one that we know and most of us pretty much despise. I can live to be a hundred and still not understand why Sanders was so gung ho to put West front and center, especially when he had the smart, decent Keith Ellison in his corner too.

But then again, Keith Ellison is a working member of Congress, had a lot of other things on his plate, and wasn't about to drop everything to hit the road with Bernie like Nina Turner did.

As I recall, Killer Mike had a tough time staying on message, so it might have been a mutual parting of ways.
