(6,699 posts)Seventeen months is a lifetime in politics.
I reflect back on Maine, Iowa, Montana, North Carolina, etc. I thought sure we were going to win most of those. We got hammered.
They cheat and lie. It pays dividends with ignorant bumpkins.

(373 posts)This is true; however, the Democratic Party is very adept at snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.
2020 should have been a banner year after 4 years of chaos and confusion, 430,000 COVID19 deaths, 40 million lost jobs: Democrats barely won the Senate majority, were left with the thinnest of House margins and failed to win a single state governors race.
I expect Democrats to lose the US Senate, US House to be trounced in statewide elections.

(19,537 posts)You are encouraging people to believe .........Why go vote, we're gonna lose. A more positive attitude would
be more helpful for 2022. "We're gonna flip 10 Qpublican Senate seats to Democrat"

(8,617 posts)Democrats lost AL, but picked up CO,AZ,and both of the GA US Senate seats. They regained control of the US Senate in 2020.
In 2022, Democrats are definitely going to hold onto-

Democrats are definitely going to hold onto-
NH(Hassan-D) if Sununu-R decides to seek re-election to the NH Governorship instead.
GA(Warnock-D) if Walker-R is a worst candidate than Loeffler-R.
Democrats could pick up
WI(Johnson-R) Godlewski-D.
NC and OH are the only states the Democrats have an uphill battle of winning.
In NC- Democrats need to nominate Jackson-D who is a better candidate than Cunningham-D.
In OH- Ryan-D is a better candidate than Mandel-R or Timken-R or Vance-R.

(46,855 posts)Let's do the hard work and hope DNC and Jaime Harrison understand something other than fund-raising and grass roots activism. Said because you have to match the games and lies they will play against us or you are not competitive.

(2,634 posts)Paper ballots in all cases. Electronically tabulated. Make it easy to recount. Make spot checks mandatory.
I don't understand why this is not in HR1.
