How do I change my Twitter password?

I have a Twitter account to be able to read posts on it. Now, I get asked to verify my password, but I can't find the paper where it's written down. When I try to access the "Change My Password" function, I'm asked to enter the lost password first.

Any advice on how to do this without entering the old password? Do I have to take down this account and start a new one?

Thanks for any help.

It has an image of a dog sitting on a red chair. Thanks for the suggestion, I'll keep trying things.

I joined it for about a month and decided no to it all. I deleted everything and never went back. It could still be there. I feel that Twitter should remember you by name and phone number or by your IPadress. It should not be on us for them to remember you are a loyal customer. But I am old so there's that.

Only to find that he was successful using a PC(but not mobile).

Perhaps try to logging via PC and enter forgot password when doing so. It should give you an option to authenticate another way ie mobile sms or via email link.

Good luck

My fingers are too clumsy to even try that on a mobile phone, an android in my case. In the end, I just created a new account, using my phone because I got a page saying that my email had already been used.

Thanks for your suggestion.
