(24,031 posts)slowing down their speeds (those w/ 'too much traffic, etc.'). When I first heard of this practice, I was pissed off (and I'm still pissed that some can take on themselves to hamper someone's emails/texts/etc. because of their accumulated traffic sent thus far).

(4,635 posts)We're leaning toward signal issues; keeps going out though all router and modum lights are copacetic. Won't load any pages and returns a messages that the DNS entities can't be found; even the default search engine for the chosen browser. Got Windows 11; that didn't help; got new cables for wired Ethernet didn't help either. After I check and set appt. with ISP; it's okay for a while, then can't seem to connect unless everything is unplugged; shut down, and back to the beginning, then wait and wait and wait for the high-speed connection. The modum's new, router a usually reliable brand not very old; CPU has been performing well...just connecting is really getting to be a pain that takes the wifi down on all the household devices...no streaming, no desktop internet, no cell phone; no tablet - I give up! I pay for the improved service, so the tech is coming out for a 2nd visit in two weeks before I go shopping for a signal whole house booster thingee to try!
