My laptop has stopped allowing me to upload photos from any SD E disk

I get this message:

"The remote procedure call failed."

I have zero idea what has happened.

There were two videos to select from - the other did not have narration, did not give additional steps if the first didn't work, and didn't have a pretty picture for a background.
