and learned that turning the faucet to hot and letting it push the cold water through the pipes prior to running the dishwasher will make it both more efficient and effective.

This group better not be going anywhere.

That is a riot.

I will do what I can to promote it. Maybe even look up some Hints from Heloise type of site and dig up some material to post.

From what I have seen so far (being not handy and a neophyte at household efficiency), it will be very likely that following tips here will save me enough to offset the cost of my Star.

Edit - can't find the dishwasher post now. It may have been in DIY.

I lurk in these groups all the time. I guess I need to step up my participation. That's especially hard to do with the holidays.
