What will happen if Trump wins?

Hi,

I'm not sure if this question has been asked before on DU. If not, I am wondering if we have any idea of the short and long term outcomes. Some say that much damage has already been done to the US political system, and that seems to be true. The political dialogue is indeed dark.

Can we make any informed predictions at all?

D.

to people the RNC will be only too happy to supply him with, the other 1% of the job being where he is happiest, in front of cameras with adoring crowds around him. The rest of the job would bore him.

His bluster will alarm the rest of the world. His administration will be a duplicate of Stupid's administration, a bunch of dogma driven ideologues keeping the system together so that the 0.1% keep getting vastly richer, the infrastructure continues to crumble, and we in the lower 99% are bled dry and ground to dust.

IOW, it will be a typical Republican administration of the type they've given us since Reagan: their star working the media and a bunch of colorless men in the background doing as much damage as they can.

By the end of it, there will be another financial collapse. There will be one of those anyway, but a Democrat might know what to do about it. Republicans won't.

Warpy,

Yours is the scenario that I imagine. Otherwise, I've only suggested "if" he wins. We are not in Defcon territory just yet.

One thing for sure. If Trump wins I think he will leave $richer, in any scenario. The guy is already milking it bigtime.

while backtracking on a number of interesting subjects. It's definitely worth resurrecting.

Reading your post dated Tuesday, September 20, 2016, it's stunning how accurate you were with your prediction, right down to the financial collapse. You nailed Chump's demeanor, and pretty much described his administration to a "T".

That must be some crystal ball you have there!

and it didn't take a crystal ball to see what that sonofabitch is.

He reminds me so much of another nation destroying, debt building arsehole, Ceausescu, right down to the arm candy wife with faked educational background.

And he's not done yet.

Being so close to NY, we saw him at the time he was first emerging onto the real estate scene, and the legendary stories soon followed. The horror I felt as I watched him ride the golden escalator was real, and I was incredulous as he announced his candidacy (even though he had bragged and spouted that someday he'd run). "No way" I said. "He's crazy as a loon." "He'll be off the campaign trail by January (2016)."

Throughout the debates, as Chump was so derisive and nasty, it didn't seem possible that he'd have a chance. But then, we here were judging him by what we knew about him over the years; not the Apprentice Chump brought to us by Mark Burnett, TYVM.

It's too bad the rest of the country hadn't seen the real DJT and not the slick, well-clipped "businessman" they based their votes upon. We're paying for that now.

Welcome to Democratic Underground, Dworkin. You'll like it here.

Donald Trump has an extremely limited path to winning the Electoral College, which is the only poll that will matter.

Get a good night's sleep and keep posting!
