Only a week ahead of you. Our warm days, this past week including yesterday and today, are warm looking but have a stout breeze with a bite to it. We've had more new snow that replaced much of what came down the three days before that. We've got more coming. The higher elevations in the back country have filled the bare spots back in.

I have two feelings about this weather, I've had about enough of the snow and chill because I want to be able to play outside all day but the chill keeps the snow in the mountains, the longer it stays there, the better.

Now my orchard is in the path of 7-11 inches of snow over the next 24 hrs. We use crabs for making cider and they are usually pretty hardy, but I expect our production will be down a bit this year.

It would probably be fine if it dumped the snow and then warmed back up, but forecasts are showing lows in the 20-30 degree range for the next week. A whole week of freezing won't be good for the fruit tree blossoms.

In Central WI we got 3.5 inches. However, we never had more than 1" at a time on the ground as it melted pretty much as it fell. I suspect all those big totals were merely guessed (as the link shows an image from La Crosse having 20+ inches but maybe 3 inches on the ground properly in the image). I suspect it is the best guess what the real accumulations are.
