Washington State Attorney General Nick Brown will be the opening speaker at NPI's 2026 Spring Fundraising Gala

With our biggest event of the year just days away, we’re delighted to announce that Washington State Attorney General Nick Brown will open the Northwest Progressive Institute’s 2026 Spring Fundraising Gala, setting the stage for an evening focused on defending democracy and advancing a more just, inclusive future for our region.

Brown is Washington State’s nineteenth attorney general. He was elected in November of 2024, took over from Bob Ferguson in January of 2025, and has regularly been filing lawsuits challenging illegal, unconstitutional actions by the Trump regime since then. It is because of the work of his office and fellow Democratic AGs that Washington has been able to check and thwart many of the regime’s biggest power grabs.

As of March 31st, 2026 (Tuesday of this week), the people of the State of Washington had filed fifty-seven cases against the regime, dwarfing the number filed in Trump’s first term. Brown is leading or co-leading twenty-one of those lawsuits, his office says, and the total amount of funding at issue in the cases is more than $15 billion.

At last year’s gala, AG Brown provided a video update on that work; this year, he’ll provide an update in-person. We hope you can join us to hear from him.
